Product Engineering Lead

Our client, a leader in high-end furniture manufacturing, is seeking a Product Engineering Lead to join their team. As a Product Engineering Lead, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting product development and manufacturing excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Product Engineering Lead

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan

Pay Range: $125,000 - $140,000 annually

What's the Job?

Lead and execute the Engineering Change Request (ECR) process, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and timely updates to design documentation

Oversee and contribute to the development of new products, proto@types, and enhancements to existing furniture lines

Develop, review, and maintain parametric 3D models and detailed production drawings in SolidWorks

Establish and uphold engineering standards, tolerances, BOMs, and design protocols for consistent manufacturing outcomes

Collaborate cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and align with company goals

What's Needed?

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field

Minimum of 10 years of experience in furniture manufacturing, product development, or engineering

Proven experience managing the ECR process and change documentation

Strong technical background with extensive knowledge of SolidWorks and parametric modeling techniques

Experience designing for wood, metal, and upholstered furniture components
