Sr Process Engineer

Position Overview:

As a leader in our plant operations, you provide both tactical and strategic direction, acting as a technical expert within mostly internal networks. You offer informal leadership to your team, dedicating a significant portion of your time to continuous improvement. Your role ensures the safe, efficient, productive, and environmentally sound manufacture of active ingredients or intermediates, contributing to the local scope of operations.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Make tactical decisions and set long-term direction to achieve area performance goals related to safety, quality, waste minimization, capacity, reliability, and operability;

Coordinate with corporate and site production planners on production timing, strategy, and raw material availability;

Assist plant management in evaluating and achieving key performance indicators related to safety, quality, waste minimization, capacity, reliability, and operability;

Investigate plant performance issues related to safety, quality, environmental impact, capacity, reliability, and operability, leading to proposal and implementation of sound technical solutions;

Serve as process expert and plant representative for design, construction, and implementation of investment projects, interfacing with technical professionals from other disciplines;

Create, maintain, and develop standards for plant operating documentation, including standard operating procedures, process descriptions, material and energy balances, P&IDs, and operating data collection and retrieval;

Provide leadership to multi-disciplinary optimization and reliability teams across sites, assisting with development of continuous improvement goals, resource prioritization, and communication of financial or other performance metrics;

Serve as a process expert for HAZOP and other Process Hazard Analyses techniques, supporting timely resolution of identified process safety risks;

Propose designs and execute plant trials directed at enhancing plant performance;

Serve as manufacturing representative on Technical Core Team for assigned processes, holding responsibilities associated with maintaining the Process Management File, and approving process changes and deviations from established operating limits;

Support adherence to procedures, guidelines, design standards, and technologies across the Site as a subject matter expert, leading or representing Site on corporate teams;

Foster experience exchange and promote knowledge transfer with other Plant Engineers, promoting continued development of self and area personnel through peer coaching and providing constructive feedback;

Support Site and Area Production System improvements, OnePSS.

WHO YOU ARE:

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

BS Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

Required Qualifications:

7 years of engineering experience with a BS degree, preferably in a plant operation function;

4+ years of engineering experience with an MS degree, preferably in a plant operation function.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $93,823.20 - $140,734.80. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
