This position is part of the RISE-AI Initiative. We seek candidates specializing in a variety of domains related to digital twins, including but not limited to: 1) defining and illustrating the successful utility of digital twins through the integration of models and data for informed decision-making; 2) addressing fundamental physical, mathematical, statistical, and computational challenges in the bidirectional, real-time interaction between a physical system and its digital counterpart; 3) quantifying uncertainties of the created digital twins; 4) achieving the generalization capability in sparse data or even no data regimes including extrapolation; and 5) identifying avenues to further enhance the efficacy and adoption of digital twins.
