About The Role:
As a CBRE Senior Software Engineer, you will oversee CBRE applications and platforms, lead service improvement, and ensure enterprise system reliability. This role requires technical leadership, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving.
This job is part of the Software Engineering job function. They are responsible for successfully executing and monitoring system improvements to increase efficiency.
What You'll Do:
Act as the main point of contact/SME for supported applications, maintaining solid relationships and managing escalations for application/platform issues.
Monitor and maintain operational systems to ensure high availability and performance.
Identify and resolve system and process inefficiencies through automation and optimization.
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to deploy and maintain applications and services.
Develop and maintain documentation for operational procedures and system configurations.
Implement and manage monitoring tools, alerting systems, and incident response protocols.
Analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement..
Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and organizational standards.
Perform root cause analysis for complex issues and implement permanent, scalable solutions.
Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and automation scripts for operational tasks.
Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of critical systems through proactive monitoring and capacity planning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operations with business objectives and drive cost-saving efficiencies.
May provide informal guidance, code reviews, and training to peers and junior staff.
Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels and of divergent interest, to adopt a different point of view

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, related field preferred with 8-10 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Superb communication and collaborator management abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Experience working with globally distributed teams and clients.
Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Kibana, Grafana, CloudWatch, and AppInsights
Proficiency in cloud platforms, specifically AWS and Azure
Familiarity with ITSM tools, including ServiceNow
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Azure DevOps
Knowledge of relational databases, including SQL Server and PostgreSQL
Strong programming skills in Java, with experience in Spring Boot and RESTful services (highly preferred)
Understanding of Agile frameworks and methodologies (highly preferred)
Experience with application lifecycle management and the full SDLC (highly preferred)
Scripting ability using Python and PowerShell (highly preferred)
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation (highly preferred)
