ADAS ECU/Sensor Application Design & Release Engineer

The Advance Driver Assistance Technology (ADAS) team develops state-of-the-art software and algorithms to deliver best-in-class features like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and 360 camera systems.
We are seeking a highly driven engineer responsible for the program application work for ADAS ECU/sensors. You would lead hardware and software application and vehicle integration work of these systems that control ADAS features on several vehicle programs
What you'll do:
Lead Design and Release work for ADAS ECU/sensors per the Global Product Development System process on various vehicle programs.
Provide cost-efficient and quality parts on time, maintaining ownership and governance of component-specific robustness quality documentation (DFMEA, DVP&R, SCAAF, etc.).
Support the Sourcing Process, including investment, piece price, and tooling cost reviews, and prepare initial and final sourcing documents including ESOW, Engineering Specifications, System and Component requirements.
Manage and execute software releases for proto@type, production, and service
Lead and perform Failure Mode Avoidance and Functional Safety analyses to examine potential failure modes and design suitable prevention strategies.
Conduct Technical Design Reviews, interfacing with Ford core activities and supplier engineering (software, hardware, mechanical, etc.).
Support the electrical distribution team by submitting related E/E information like Design Transmittals, specifications, and electrical diagrams.
Support Vehicle Operations activities to determine appropriate assembly and testing processes.
Interface with other engineers, Vehicle Engineering, suppliers, and management to ensure compliance with required specifications and efficient critical decision-making.
Complete program-related work such as Bill of Materials (BOM), integration and packaging, parts release, requirements compliance, Engineering Signoff, 2-pagers, and AIMs. Ensure program deliverables are met on time and with the highest quality, including FEDEBOM, Global Integrator DRP, Packaging/Digital Buck, DPA Checks, WERS, FMA, Subsystem/Supplier work plans, DVP&R, and Engineering Sign-off.
Analyze data, identify root causes of issues, and develop corrective actions to optimize processes and achieve desired outcomes. Strong systems engineering approach to problem-solving and design. Drive troubleshooting and development of solutions for Hardware, Software, and packaging issues found during validation and launch using problem-solving best practices (Is/Is not, 3L5W, fishbones, etc.) with various experts.
Support proto@type and vehicle launches, which may require travel.
Identify validation, durability, and functional testing required for a given program's change scope.
Support ongoing warranty reduction and improvements.
Support Total Vehicle Management activities.
You'll have:
BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or strongly related
Experience with packaging electronic modules and components in vehicles
3+ years of experience in Design and Release of E/E components.
3+ years of experience with Automotive Component or Subsystem Product Development tools and processes.
Strong understanding and application of engineering disciplines (engineering specifications, systems engineering, design validation, failure mode analysis, 8D, Six Sigma, etc.).
An expert at analyzing and resolving complex issues.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, self-motivated, proactive, eager to take responsibility, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
Outstanding supplier relationship skills to coach and lead suppliers as required.
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Ability to quickly learn the job (with mentoring from others), and then be able to self-lead the D&R Application work on programs.
Ability to clearly and concisely communicate and interact with others, both orally and in writing.
Motivation to bring new technologies from concept to production in a short time period.
Ability to travel, as necessary.
Even better, you may have:
MSEE or advanced degree preferred.
3+ years of CAD packaging experience.
Experience with ADAS technologies (e.g., camera, radar, lidar, ultrasonic, domain controller).
Mechanical subsystems, brackets design experience.
Strong knowledge of E/E Systems and how E/E components interface with other vehicle systems.
Diagnostic tools and troubleshooting familiarity (DET, CANAlyzer, DTCs, DIDs etc.).
Thorough understanding of vehicle electrical systems and electrical design/development processes.
Understanding of production processes.

This position is a range of salary grades 6-8.
