Description
Job Summary:Greenlight Networks, New York State's fastest fiber internet provider is actively recruiting for a Director of Construction to add to our high performing team paving the way for Greenlight to continue expansion in our existing communities and accelerate our ability to expand into new markets. This role will lead our construction teams that allow Greenlight to provide communities with the best internet experience possible. This position will oversee Outside Plant Construction. Management skills will be incredibly important for this role to meet and exceed our planned budgeted miles and passing
Essential Functions:
Build and lead teams of project managers and outside plant professionals spanning multiple markets creating a shared vision and a path for growth.
Work at a leadership level with peers to proactively plan and implement construction strategies that are aligned with and support Greenlights' commitments to the communities we serve and are expanding into meeting customer demand.
Work in partnership with finance to develop yearly, monthly and project-based financial and productivity forecasts and measure success against forecasts. Deploy solutions to ensure budgets and forecasts are met and changes to forecasts are communicated timely.
Track and monitor actual cost and production results.
Review, forecast, and manage capital expenditures to insure accountability to capital targets and goals.
Ensure efficient labor utilization within the organization and through cross practice resource sharing.
Manage and evaluate operational organizational structure and personnel; leading operational efficiency through in-house and contract labor for new construction, overbuild projects, maintenance and repair.
Ensure alignment with industry partners/sub-contractors to meet project deadlines, budget parameters and industry compliance.
Partner with the engineering teams for network design, construction planning, and hub build and activation.
Work with other Greenlight Networks departments to develop and refine processes and standards.
Participates in the evaluation and selection of new technology.
Dissect pole make-ready obstacles and solve them in a methodical manner to overcome them effectively and obtain a positive outcome.
Act as point of escalation for the make ready team to support solving complex issues with outside vendors and pole owners, working cross functionally to resolve issues.
Maintains established procedures to evaluate Make-ready procedures in accordance with all local regulations, rules & policies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Relentless focus on results and driving improvements.
Ability to work within a matrixed team environment successfully.
Proven track record of success managing multiple project teams, competing priorities, and different personalities.
Strong knowledge of Telecom construction, budget creation and management, project scheduling and tracking, cost reporting, and field activity management.
Self-motivated, self-sufficient, and self-driven; must possess a high degree of integrity and accountability.
Demonstrated success in documenting and measuring processes and procedures.
Understanding of OSHA rules and regulations, both federal and state.
Knowledge of current and emerging trends and developments within the construction field and corresponding impact on business operations.
Other Requirements:
10+ years of management experience running Outside Plant Activities.
Related higher education degree preferred, focus in operations, Business, engineering desirable
Experience with commercial and residential construction practices as it relates to fiber builds, sequences, schedules, methods, products, etc.
Experienced in Project Management and in leading project management teams across a multi-state footprint.
Compensation:
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary is between $125K - $185K. The actual salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
