Vice President for Operations
JOB SUMMARY
The Vice President for Operations at Southern Regional Technical College is a senior leadership position responsible for the overall planning, organization, and direction of the college's facilities and information technology functions ensuring that they operate efficiently, in a cost-effective manner, and are aligned with strategic business goals.
MAJOR DUTIES
· Provides strategic leadership and direction for the college's operational areas, including Facilities and Information Technology;
· Collaborates with senior leadership to develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the college's mission and strategic plan;
· Develops and implements plans to ensure staff, space, and materials are adequate to comply with federal and state guidelines;
· Directs the overall planning, implementation, and execution of physical plant and grounds maintenance, improvement, and expansion;
· Reviews and approves all requests for supplies and materials for the operations and facilities functions of the college;
· Coordinates the contracting process by writing specifications and distributes necessary bid invitations and forms in accordance with state purchasing guidelines and TCSG rules and requirements;
· In conjunction with related personnel, ensures compliance with safety, accessibility, and environmental regulations;
· Oversees the development and management of departmental budgets to ensure efficient resource allocation;
· Develops and maintains internal control structures;
· Directs the establishment of plans related to the design, construction, engineering, repair and maintenance of facilities to support the goals and objectives of the college;
· Ensures the timely completion of projects;
· Directs the safe removal of hazardous materials and surplus items and training of employees in hazardous material safety procedures;
· Establishes and coordinates an access/key control program;
· Ensures the overall maintenance of fire alarms, extinguishers, sprinkler and security systems;
· Develops and/or assists in the development of procedures, recommends changes, and communicates information to college faculty/staff to effectively meet the goals and requirements of the program and college;
· Monitors the activities of personnel to ensure compliance with policies and procedures;
· Coordinates development and implementation of the campus master plan and master facilities plan;
· Directs and inspects the services of contractors;
· Serves on various boards and committees as needed;
· Oversees procedures, programs, and plans for emergency management, safety, security, and emergency preparedness and ensures compliance with state, federal, and OSHA rules and regulations;
· Develops a technology vision and strategy to support the college's mission and goals;
· Plans the implementation of new technologies to achieve business objectives;
· Ensures a robust cybersecurity program to safeguard college data and resources;
· Communicates the organization's IT and facilities vision;
· Stays abreast of industry trends and evaluates emerging technologies and recommends adoption as appropriate;
· Recruits, mentors, and leads a high performing team;
· Supervises and evaluates personnel and provides input on personnel related matters;
· Reviews relevant data to identify trends and recommend actions;
· Advises the President on all matters relating to the operations and facilities function of the college;
· In collaboration with VP of Administrative Services, develops processes and plans for MR&R Fund requests and expenditures;
· Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) as defined by The Clery Act, forwards reports of crimes to the Campus Police Department, and participates in annual CSA training;
· Participates in assessment, planning, budgeting, and staff development;
· Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's degree and Seven (7) years of related work experience OR Master's degree and Three (3) years of related work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
In addition to the minimum qualifications:
· Knowledge of TCSG policies and procedures
· Ability to comprehend and interpret design drawings, sketches and specifications
· Ability to produce design drawings, sketches, and specifications
· Working knowledge of technical industrial program equipment and facility needs
· Experience utilizing instructional technology to improve learning outcomes
· Demonstrated leadership in a post-secondary setting
