Job Description
The Assistant Director of Financial Aid provides daily operational management of the Inver Hills Community College (IHCC) and Dakota County Technical College (DCTC) Office of Financial Aid in coordination with the Director of Financial Aid. This position assists the Director of Financial Aid in administration of all Federal, State, and college financial aid programs, as well as manage the data flow and information system resources supporting the financial aid programs and office functions while ensuring compliance of all federal, state, institution and MinnState policies. The Assistant Director of Financial Aid will act as a work lead in the Director of Financial Aid absence.
Responsibilities Include:
Administer Federal and State data processes and financial aid programs to ensure compliance with Federal and State aid regulations.
Provide work direction and leadership to support operations of the financial aid office.
Assist the Director in performing office administrative responsibilities.
Assist with setup and maintenance of computer systems to ensure the technology efficiently supports financial processes.
Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner.
Salary Range:
$28.26 - $41.43/ Hour; $59,007 - $86,506 Annually
Minimum Qualifications
Four full-time years (or equivalent) of professional/related experience in financial aid. (A bachelor's degree may substitute for one year of professional/related experience.)
Ability to work within a highly technical audited and regulated environment.
Personal computing/technology skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office software; experience with and comfort utilizing multiple @types of technology.
Creative problem-solving skills in a fast-moving environment.
Organizational skills sufficient to process and maintain data and manage multiple and diverse responsibilities.
Experience working with a diverse population of students, staff and faculty.
Strong interpersonal and written communications skills to interview and counsel students and conduct training sessions.
Preferred Qualification
Master's degree
Extensive knowledge of financial aid programs.
Experience in administration of financial aid programs.
Prior experience with financial software such as ISRS, COD, NSLDS, FSA Partner Connect
Physical Requirements
Maintain a stationary position for long periods of time
Travel to various locations for events or meetings.
