Job Description:
This job is responsible for testing and delivering complex software requirements to accomplish business outcomes, ensuring the testing strategy and processes are well-defined and continuously improved. Key responsibilities include establishing a test and automation strategy, creating common test frameworks, defining and managing test processes including test data generation, defect management and reporting. Job expectations include understanding and implementing internal/external mandate, ensuring compliance requirements are met on all levels of test environments, and manages traceability.
Job Profile Summary:
The automation engineer will be responsible for designing and developing the testing tools required to test complex software requirements within Bank of America's Global Risk and Regulatory Technology team. The DNA ARC team is responsible for building systems that help the Bank leverage the power of large data sets for a wide variety of uses cases and users including front office execution services consultants, sales traders, data scientists as well as regulatory and supervisory reporting requirements.
The role involves working with large volumes of data generated at very high velocity, typically billions of messages a day with peaks of several thousands of messages per second.
Responsibilities:
Creates and optimizes test processes including defect management and reporting
Creates and optimizes test automation frameworks and use of test automation tools
Leads test planning for complex features that span across the platform or multiple teams
Creates a test automation strategy across the application stack (UI, API, and Backend, etc.)
Ensures alignment and sign off for test cases from business and other stakeholders
Manages test execution and resolves, communicates or escalates any issues that may result in test plan variance
Designs test data and ensure data compliance requirements are met on all levels of test environments
Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements.
Performs Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) activities.
Required Qualifications:
Experience coding in Java/Python/Groovy
Strong knowledge in RDBMS and ability to write complex SQL queries.
Experience with Test Management tools, JIRA and able to conduct triage sessions.
Good understanding of the functional testing process, scenarios and what to expect from a testing sequence.
Strong Problem Identifying and solving ability.
Ability to understand and maintain existing automated scripts based on the specifications.
Desired Qualifications:
Resource should have strong verbal and written communication skills as well as a demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and collaborative environment.
Knowledge of FIX protocol
