Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Irvine, California. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to essential accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliation. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate expertise in financial systems, and ensure accuracy in all processes.

Responsibilities:

Manage accounts payable processes, including gathering invoices, scheduling payments, and verifying receipt of goods and services.

Process vendor payments via electronic transfers and checks, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Prepare checks and remittance advices for review, and maintain organized filing of vendor invoices and payment confirmations.

Reconcile accounts payable balances with the general ledger control account to ensure accuracy.

Oversee accounts receivable tasks, such as posting cash receipts, reviewing remittance advices, and addressing short payments.

Reconcile accounts receivable trial balances with general ledger control accounts, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues.

Conduct credit card reconciliations by matching receipts to transactions and preparing journal entries for managerial review.

Maintain general ledger account reconciliations for designated expense accounts, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy.

Generate weekly labor and expense reports, follow up on missing reports, and ensure all necessary documentation is received.

Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting procedures and timely completion of tasks. Requirements - Proficiency in accounting software systems and ERP platforms.

Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Familiarity with financial services tools such as ADP, Ceridian, and Concur.

Strong auditing and reconciliation skills, with attention to detail.

Ability to manage billing functions and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.

Solid understanding of general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work within a team environment.
