Job Title: Assistant Controller

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our team in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This full-time, in-office position involves supporting our accounting and finance department in managing financial operations and assisting in the development of internal controls, reporting practices, and business processes.

Responsibilities

Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and receipts.

Supervise daily operations of the accounting department and support staff members as needed.

Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Prepare and analyze monthly budget-to-actual reports, identifying variances and investigating discrepancies.

Assist with cash flow management, bank reconciliations, and credit card reconciliations.

Maintain fixed asset records and schedules, track capital expenditures, and ensure proper depreciation methods are applied.

Support in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans.

Develop, document, and improve accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Assist with the preparation of tax filings and reports for external tax preparers.

Provide backup and support for payroll processing, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and operations teams to ensure accurate financial integration across business functions.

Generate ad hoc financial reports and perform special projects as assigned.

Work Environment

This is an office-based role located in Harrisburg, PA, with work hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and occasional overtime required during peak periods.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
