Customer Service Representative

Our client is a full-service home medical equipment company offering a wide range of products including CPAP machines, ventilators, bath aids, and more. We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our Traverse City team and support patients with medical equipment needs, insurance coordination, and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide exceptional customer service via inbound/outbound calls and email.

Educate patients and caregivers on the use and care of respiratory equipment.

Troubleshoot equipment issues and explain insurance coverage and financial responsibilities.

Process orders, schedule deliveries, and verify referral documentation.

Collaborate with Respiratory Department staff and Program Managers.

Maintain accurate records and ensure HIPAA compliance.

Assist walk-in patients with equipment returns and pickups.

Required Qualifications:

1-3 years of customer service or administrative experience in a medical, insurance, or office setting.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical equipment and insurance details clearly.

Detail-oriented with a high level of empathy and patience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows systems.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist patients into seated positions.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Medical Assistant, CNA, or insurance verification experience.

Familiarity with medical terminology, billing, or HIPAA regulations.

Interest in or pursuing a degree in Respiratory Therapy.

On-Call Rotation (Post-Direct Hire):

Remote on-call availability 1-3 times/month.

Must have access to a private, secure location with Wi-Fi and computer.

Compensation:

Weekdays (5 PM-9 PM): $25 stipend

Weekends (9 AM-9 PM): $60 stipend

Hourly wage paid for time spent on calls, plus stipend even if no calls are received.

Work Environment:

On-site at the Traverse City store.

Business casual attire or scrubs.

Must wear closed-toe shoes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
