Job Title: Data Science Engineer

Location: Troy, MI and telecommuting and remote work permitted 100% of the time from anywhere in the U.S. Occasional domestic travel around 1 to 2 times per year required to Class Valuation's regional office or corporate home office located in Troy, Michigan.

Position Responsibilities:

Analyze and extract meaningful insights from large datasets to support strategic business decisions. Develop and implement classification and regression models using TensorFlow and Python to improve business processes. Implement algorithms to classify complex business operations and build machine learning models that predict quality of orders that will lead to reduction in completion times. Design a global multidimensional weighting and ranking system of various features of national vendor profiles and appraisal order feature sets. Apply various machine learning algorithms, including Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), linear/logistic regression, Support Vector Machines (SVM), and ensemble methods like random forests. Utilize tools and platforms such as Python including data visualization libraries such as pandas, seaborn, and matplotlib to communicate insights effectively. Work with R and SQL to maintain and optimize and extend existing code. Use cloud based native tooling in AWS, like SageMaker studios and Bedrock, to build an end[1]to-end machine learning model. Maintain well written code in repositories using version control system. Leverage Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, including GRU, LSTM, and transformer architectures like BERT, to apply machine learning to real-world datasets. Employ Generative AI to develop domain-specific chatbots and automate various use cases. Design, build and execute complex multicomponent solutions by collaborating with outside technical partners, internal data science teams, and cross functional engineer teams. Communicate with senior customer stakeholders and senior technical leadership individuals. Telecommuting and remote work permitted 100% of the time from anywhere in the U.S. Occasional domestic travel around 1 to 2 times per year required to Class Valuation's regional office or corporate home office located in Troy, Michigan.

Required Skills & Experience:

Master's or foreign equivalent degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and 6 months of experience in the job offered or 6 months of experience in the related occupation of Graduate Research Assistanship, Data Scientist, Data Engineer or equivalent working with Machine learning, data science, AI, statistics, algorithm development, tuning, deployment, and monitoring. 6 months of experience with machine learning models and algorithms including NLP, ANN, CNN, linear/logistic regression, SVM, and ensemble methods like random forests; 6 months of experience with solution development, algorithm development, and deployment within supervised and unsupervised learning pathways, as well as neural networks; and experience programming with Python and relevant libraries and frameworks such as Flask and TensorFlow. Occasional domestic travel around 1 to 2 times per year required to Class Valuation's regional office or corporate home office located in Troy, Michigan.
