We're looking for a Software Engineer to support their Networks & Connectivity Engineering (NCE) division located in the Annapolis, Maryland headquarters. The Software Engineering will participate in the engineering and development of systems and software for the GLOBALink communications system utilized in worldwide aviation communications. Development of GLOBALink products entails customer requirements elicitation, system design, software design, development, followed by unit and integration testing, and finally formal acceptance testing. The successful candidate will participate in a team environment across the aforementioned engineering processes/procedures to ensure successful product development utilizing standard waterfall development in a CMMI level 3 organization.
What You Will Do:
You will perform full life-cycle software development including designing system and software solutions; supporting implementation, integration, acceptance testing and deployment.
You will contribute to highly technical software engineering teams on challenging software upgrades and features.
You will provide analysis for the decomposition of technical system level requirements into sub-system software requirements and design.
You will support a large-scale global aviation network infrastructure with heavy design focus in redundancy, high availability, and security.
You will develop software for air-ground/ground-ground communication, positional data processing, transport/routing/link layer protocols, and remote deployment capabilities.
You will collaborate closely with system engineering/performance, network engineering, system acceptance and field operation teams.
You will provide support for product deployment, field monitoring, troubleshooting and operator trainings.
You will participate in lab/field integration, Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) from domestic US, South America, Europe and Asia.
You will utilize a mature ISO/SEI CMMI compliant process to produce all work products.
You will support project leadership, project planning, execution, monitoring and closure activities.
You will be working collaboratively onsite in our Annapolis, MD facility.

Qualification You Must Have:
Requires a Bachelor's degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).

Qualifications We Prefer:
Knowledge of the commercial aviation industry.
Linux, Network Protocols, High Availability and Security.
The ideal candidate will have experience using disciplined development processes in a team environment.
Aerospace knowledge and experience.
Proven communication and collaboration skills to work across internal and external customers (government and commercial).

The salary range for this role is 62,000 USD - 118,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
