Summary You will serve as a FINANCIAL TECHNICIAN in the FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT (N8) of NAVRESREDCOM NORTHWEST. Responsibilities You will examine, verify and maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data, prepare and analyze reports. You will make and verify arithmetical computations. You will complete and maintain payroll records and determine pay pertaining to civilian employees of the Federal Government. You will answer requests and provide advice to employees, supervisors, staff in other financial management series and personnel specialists on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures. You will extract data from records to prepare reports. You will establish, maintain, correct and close pay accounts for active, reserve, or retired armed forces personnel and their annuitants. You will perform in-processing, out-processing, respond to pay inquires, review pay debts, and process adjustments. You will maintain ledgers, compile, consolidate, and check and arrange funding data. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in using accounting systems, including semi-independent reconciliations, obligation adjustments, and corrections to suspense documents. Experience in applying administrative rules, regulations and procedures associated with records, reporting, processing, and keeping track of budgetary transactions. Experience utilizing procurement procedures and supply instructions in accordance with DoN and DOD regulations. Experience in examining financial documents for accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations for goods and services provided to or by the Government. Experience identifying and resolving financial problems relating to budgetary issues, regulatory issues, and documentation issues.
