SUMMARY: Medical Oncologist specializes in the diagnosis, treatment
and management of various forms of cancer. This position is responsible
for providing compassionate, patient-centered care in an outpatient
clinic setting, guiding patients and their support networks through
complex diagnoses and treatment decisions. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluations and diagnosing patients with various @types and stages of
cancer. Developing, implementing and monitoring individualized
treatment plans. Providing education and guidance to patients and
families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, side effects and
prognosis. Collaborating with Infusion RNs to safety oversee the
administration of chemotherapy and other infusion therapies.
Coordinating care with primary care providers, surgeons, radiologists,
pathologists, and palliative care teams as needed. Participating in
tumor boards, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
Maintaining accurate, thorough documentation in the electronic medical
record. Remaining current with best practices, treatments protocols
and clinical research in oncology. Contributing to a culture of
excellence, empathy and patient empowerment throughout the cancer care
continuum. QUALIFICATIONS: * Medical degree (MD or DO) with current
licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Oregon required.
- Fellowship training in Medical Oncology required. Board
Certification in Medical Oncology preferred; must be obtained within 3
years if not currently certified. Valid DEA registration and active
enrollment in the Oregon Prescription Brug Monitoring Program (PDMP) *
Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to start date.
