Accountant - Entry Level

Description We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join our team in Theodore, Alabama. This is a six-month Contract position with the potential to transition into a permanent role within a manufacturing environment, offering an excellent opportunity for growth and development. The role involves a variety of accounting tasks, including cost accounting, journal entries, and auditing, with occasional work in the plant to support operational needs.

Responsibilities:

Perform cost accounting tasks to analyze and track manufacturing costs.

Prepare and record journal entries accurately and in compliance with company policies.

Conduct regular audits to ensure financial records align with established standards.

Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.

Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts on a routine basis.

Assist with annual inventory accounting and asset inventory tracking.

Utilize Microsoft Excel to create formulas, pivot tables, and perform intermediate-level functions.

Collaborate with the Controller to support year-end accounting activities.

Work onsite in the office and visit the plant daily to gather relevant financial data.

Contribute to accounting entries and journal entries related to inventory management. Requirements - Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, including Accounting Level 1 & 2.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.

Familiarity with cost accounting and inventory-related accounting tasks.

Experience with year-end financial processes and reporting.

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and adapt to plant operations.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate record-keeping.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Flexibility to occasionally work weekends, especially during annual plant shutdown periods.
