Job Description Summary

Leader of complex new part introduction. Drives and owns new process introduction that will lead to manufacturing improvements; from new machines to innovative fixturing and tooling. Leads cross functional teams to design gages, fixturing, tooling and process flow to meet design/Engine manual specifications. Reviews and approves drawings/repairs for manufacturability. Mentor of technical team.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities :

Leads multiple NPI projects resulting in manufacturing improvements in quality, cost, and production, while ensuring cycle times are met.

New process/part introduction -large scale in quantity or complexity??

Technical process ownership for critical rotating parts/components for aircraft engines. Specific focus on machining (milling, turning, EDM, grinding, etc). of high temperature alloys

Work cross functionally with quality and design engineers to ensure that processes achieve established metrics

Translate technical processes and methods to train and empower production employees in the manufacturing techniques required for greatest yield effectiveness & equipment capability

Assist Production Supervisors and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems through a drive to root cause and permanent corrective action

Qualifications/Requirements :

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)

Minimum of 3 years of experience in Production Process and Equipment/Manufacturing

Desired Characteristics :

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

Prior experience with machining (milling, turning, EDM, grinding, etc.) of high temperature alloys.

Self-motivated to get the solution with reasonable amount of time and financial support

Communicate effectively with operators, peers, and management, in both written and oral manners

Six Sigma or equivalent Quality training

Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions using structured methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), five-why, Kepner Tregoe (KT), etc.

Strong organizational skills

Ability to handle diverse activities simultaneously

Ability to work in a matrix organization

Strong influencing skills
