Summary This position for The Defense Information Systems Agency is at Fort Meade, Maryland . Responsibilities The incumbent of this position performs various budget functions involving the formulation, justification, and/or execution of budgets for organizations, programs, or projects. Provides local budget policy and procedures, budget formulation assumptions, and formats and schedules to serviced organizations for budget submissions. Develops narrative justification statements and presentation material for budget submissions and reprogramming requests. Participates in the monitoring of year end closing to ensure proper and full use of provided funds, with no anti deficiency violation. Evaluates the effect of cost and program changes on the budget execution process. Analyzes productivity, workload, and program accomplishments. Provides financial reports showing the status of receipts, obligations, and expenditures of funds; trend analyses of rates of expenditures; comparisons of actual performance to the financial plan and identification of variances. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Time in Grade: For entry at the GS-11 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-09 or higher grade in the Federal Service. For entry at the GS-12 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in the Federal Service. Specialized Experience: For the GS-11, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-09 if outside the Federal service. Specialized experience at the GS-11 level is defined as experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving a wide range of budgetary problems. For the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-11 if outside the Federal service. Specialized experience at the GS-12 level is defined as experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving a wide range of budgetary problems; experience utilizing financial systems to research and analyze data pertaining to the budgets; and experience certifying or processing funding documents and managing spend plans. In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Salary will be determined based on the grade level of the selectee. The salary listed reflects the 2025 General Schedule Base scale. Salary will be adjusted to meet the locality pay of the duty location upon selection.
