Summary About the Position: About the Position: This is an Engineering Technical (Mechanical), GS-0802-09/10/11 position for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Southwestern Division for the following location: Tulsa, Oklahoma. This position may be filled at the GS-09, GS-10, or GS-11 grade level. GS 9: $ 61,111 - $79,443 GS 10: $ 67,297 - $87,482 GS 11: $73,939 - $96,116 The full performance level of this position is GS-11. Promotion is at the discretion of management. Responsibilities Perform inspection involving the mechanical systems in the major repair of an existing structure. Develop and prepare design concepts, design studies, maintenance and repair components in hydroelectric power plants utilizing computer aided drafting products. Consult with and advise project engineers and others as to the availability of equipment and facilities to support projects. Support engineering staff in duties associated with maintenance of hydroelectric power plants Provide technical guidance and support with FEM computerized maintenance management system. Manage file system for plans and engineering documents. Minimum Qualifications GS 9: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Applying a wide range of technical engineering methods and techniques using pneumatics, mechanics, electricity, refrigeration, and heat to assigned work tasks. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-8). Minimum Qualifications GS 10: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Applying a wide range of technical engineering methods and techniques using pneumatics, mechanics, electricity, refrigeration, and heat; and Developing plans to improve present heating and cooling systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-9). Minimum Qualifications GS 11: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Applying a wide range of technical engineering methods and techniques using pneumatics, mechanics, electricity, refrigeration, and heat; Developing plans to improve present heating and cooling systems; and Preparing report of findings on the effective performance and functionality of mechanical systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Design Mechanical Engineering Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08/09/10). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
