Process Controls Design Engineer

Responsibilities

Collaborate with project managers to review and interpret user requirements.

Create detailed Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).

Select and specify instrumentation tailored to each unique system.

Design control panels for electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Design electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.

Design equipment network architecture.

Perform other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field.

5+ years of relevant work experience in designing control systems.

Familiarity with Allen Bradley products.

Proven experience in designing electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Experience in designing VFD and motor control.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD Electrical.

Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience and understanding of Hazardous Location requirements and protection methods.

Strong proficiency in UL and NEC Electrical standards.

High standard of integrity and superb communication skills.

Team-focused, customer-service oriented, and self-motivated.

Detail-oriented with excellent mechanical aptitude.

Extreme ownership to see projects through from beginning to end.

Work Environment

This role involves prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally. Travel is required, approximately 5%-10% of the time. The position is hybrid, with the option to live in the Chicago or St. Louis area. Occasional onsite presence for factory acceptance testing may be needed. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Peoria, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $62.00/hr.
