Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

Develop and implement financial strategies to support organizational goals.

Lead finance and accounting teams, providing direction, mentorship, and performance oversight.

Manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and executive-level analysis.

Ensure full compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.

Oversee core accounting functions: AP/AR, payroll, benefits, and month-end closings.

Maintain strong internal controls and safeguard financial integrity using systems like NetSuite.

Conduct risk analysis, support fundraising, and lead M& A or strategic initiatives.

Communicate key financial metrics, insights, and trends to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Team Leadership

Build and lead a high-performing, collaborative finance team.

Set clear objectives and KPIs; delegate tasks effectively.

Foster a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and ethical practices.

Provide regular performance feedback and professional development opportunities.

Cultivate an environment of adaptability, inclusion, and problem-solving.

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure adherence to financial reporting standards, tax laws, and industry regulations.

Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to mitigate financial risk and fraud.

Conduct internal audits and collaborate with external auditors as needed.

Maintain accurate documentation and lead compliance-related reporting.

Stay current on regulatory changes and implement best practices in risk management.

Train team members on compliance protocols and ethical standards.

Strategic Planning & Analysis

Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term financial planning and goal-setting.

Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes.

Analyze business performance, market trends, and operational data to drive strategic decisions.

Evaluate capital investments, M& A opportunities, and resource allocation.

Develop performance metrics and dashboards to monitor financial health.

Support cost control initiatives and optimize capital structure.

E-Commerce & Direct-to-Consumer Accounting

Oversee financial operations for DTC and e-commerce channels.

Manage reconciliation of online sales, inventory, and fulfillment-related expenses.

Handle accounting for returns, refunds, gift cards, and event-based sales activities.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams to streamline e-commerce financial processes.

Marketplace Accounting Oversight

Supervise accounting for third-party marketplace platforms (e.g., Amazon, Walmart).

Manage inventory tracking, fee reconciliation, and compliance with platform-specific requirements.

Ensure proper revenue recognition and tax reporting across marketplace channels

Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.

10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ in a leadership capacity.

Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities.

Excellent communication and team leadership skills.

Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and e-commerce accounting is a plus.
