Do you have experience in contract writing, negotiating, or penalties? The Attorney Unit within the Department of Children and Family Services is seeking a professional with your expertise to assist in contractual legal matters/issues.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Serves as specialized counsel for complex contractual matters, SFP/RFP'S, Procurement Issues, Protest, and Property matters.
Provides experienced legal advice, recommendations, guidance, and assistance to Department management personnel regarding these matters.
Meets with senior management, program staff and other governmental and private entities to provide legal advice and recommendations regarding the state procurement process and procurement activities. Many of these procurements involve multimillion dollar, complex activities, and multiple agencies.
Negotiates, drafts, amends and reviews complex contracts, CEAs, MOUs, RFPs/SFPs, procurement documents, request for information, invitation to negotiate, settlements, and other legal documents required by the Department.
Reviews and drafts responses to Protest of RFP/SFP awards filed by unsuccessful proposers.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment
Career Progression: May be filled as an Attorney 1-3 depending on qualifications.
Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
Location:East Baton Rouge Parish
Compensation: Special Entrance Rates have been established for Attorney job titles. The referenced positions are also eligible for premium pay of up to $2.00 per hour for hours work based on specific criteria.
Attorney 1 $27.08 hourly (AS-617)
Attorney 2 $28.98 hourly (AS-618)
Attorney 3 $32.02 hourly (AS-620)
