Summary You will serve as an EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (ELECTRONICS) in the Training Department, Weapons and Tactics Unit Division of COMMANDER, PATROL WING 10. Responsibilities You will provide technical expertise during the design, development, acquisition, acceptance, introduction and life cycle configuration and modification of training devices (P-3C/EP-3E/P-8A). You will monitor and evaluate the performance of contractors engaged in the maintenance, administration, operation, installation, modification, inspection, and acceptance of all Contractor Operation and Maintenance Services. You will perform inspection of equipment repairs, maintenance techniques, and equipment operation and monitor test equipment condition and calibration. You will authorize contractor premium time within command budget and contractual limits. You will provide Contractor Operation and Maintenance Services (COM) support requirements including logistic support, new acquisitions, engineering and contractual changes. You will maintain or prepare all required program documentation including budgetary requirements, reports, results of inspections, rationale for changes or improvements. You will develop and evaluate extensive plans covering technical specifications, funding requirements, equipment and maintenance documentation for the purpose of proposing engineering / contractor changes. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing the production, maintenance or configuration of electronic equipment (e.g., DARTS, AAAT, or COMS) by providing technical direction to the Contracting Officer's for a military training program. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing technical support in the production, maintenance, or configuration of electronic equipment (e.g., DARTS, AAAT, or COMS) by assisting Contracting Officer's for a military training program. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Substitution of education for GS-11 only: Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. OR Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. OR Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled. OR Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
