Responsibilities
The Ascension Data Sciences Institute (ADSI) was created in July 2019 with the mission of supporting Ascension in achieving its Quadruple Aim with uniquely skilled, high-performing associates who develop analyses, models, and applications to enable Ascension in providing higher value healthcare and making strategic decisions. We recognize that the healthcare environment is a complex ecosystem of rapidly evolving clinical and economic practices that affect patient and provider experience and demands increasingly sophisticated and complex measurement. Our objective is for analytics and data science to play a critical and foundational role in the transformation of care delivery, quality and financial outcomes to enable our organization's competitive advantage.
We are hiring a Manager, Clinical Transformation to support Ascension's goal to differentiate ourselves on patient quality and innovation. Clinical Transformation is a rapidly growing division of the company working to leverage health technologies that include AI, wearables, virtual care, personalized patient messaging, and remote patient monitoring - with our team leading analytic efforts around these programs. In this position, you will be responsible for supporting our newly established Care Model Transformation vertical, focused on the expansion of virtual and on-demand care offerings in both acute and primary care settings. You will be integrated within a multi-disciplinary group of analysts, data scientists, developers, engineers, and medical professionals, supporting the rapid development, deployment, monitoring, reporting, and scaling of these digital programs.
As an ideal candidate, you will bring experience in leading teams responsible for data science, reporting and metric development, data visualization, and quality control. Experience in clinical care settings and/or virtual care or telehealth/telemedicine technology are pluses. To be successful, you will need to have experience with leadership on data projects, a knowledge of SQL, natural curiosity and eagerness to learn, and enjoy working in a high-performing team.
Responsibilities:
Manage the data science teams that build and monitor data processing pipelines, work closely with data engineering and other technical teams to establish the baseline infrastructure needed to evaluate and scale programs
Mentor a team of data scientists and analysts, supporting day-to-day needs, and helping the growth and development of those reporting up to you
Support the development of virtual care analytics, including provider, patient, and business outcome metrics as well as implementation & expansion reporting
Develop and coordinate the deployment of key performance indicators in partnership with clinical stakeholders
Establish reporting dashboards that deliver on clinical and business stakeholder requirements, including documentation of data elements and metrics, and the communication of results to senior management and leadership
Support ad hoc analytic requests and communicate findings to stakeholders to provide data-driven insights and guidance
Work Experience:
At least 1 year of experience leading a data science or analytics team.
SQL skills are required ( Please note, the interview process will include a SQL assessment.)
Experience working with EHR, medical billing and coding, claims, and/or other healthcare data is preferred
Experience in clinical care settings and/or virtual care or telehealth/telemedicine technology is desirable
Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Tableau, Looker, and/or Salesforce is desirable

Requirements
Education:
High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
