Astronics Advanced Electrical Systems (AES) is actively seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable (AR/AP) Clerk to join our vibrant Accounting Team in Kirkland, WA . This is an on-site position with the flexibility to work from home part-time , depending on project requirements.

Job Summary

As an AR/AP Clerk, you will perform a variety of routine accounting tasks that require judgment and accuracy. Your responsibilities will include preparing statements and invoices, verifying records, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. You will handle accounts receivable and payable functions, reconcile accounts, and post entries to journals, ledgers, and other accounting records, adhering to established company procedures.

Essential Responsibilities

Accounts Payable:

Process invoices, expense reports, and reimbursements accurately and promptly.

Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.

Correspond with vendors and buyers to resolve discrepancies or issues.

Record and categorize expenses in the company's accounting system, ensuring all expenses are documented and coded according to the General Ledger (GL) account structure.

Accounts Receivable:

Generate and send invoices to customers promptly.

Follow up on overdue accounts and communicate with clients regarding payment status.

Process cash receipts and reconcile cash statements daily.

Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy.

General:

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.

Stay current with changes in accounting regulations and standards.

Maintain organized records of all financial transactions, invoices, and payments for auditing and future reference.

Minimum Requirements

Competencies:

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED required.

1-2 years of related experience in the essential responsibilities.

Employment Eligibility Requirements:

As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics must adhere to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Therefore, candidates must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible .

Employment is contingent on passing a pre-employment background screen and drug test, including cannabis screening .

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $21.93 - $29.67 per hour (Mid-point: $25.80) . Several factors influence the actual salary offered, including experience, skills, training, certifications, and market conditions. Typically, new hires are closer to the mid-point of the range.
