Description

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Dalton, Georgia. There is a chance this could turn into a permanent role. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining efficient payment processes. This candidate needs to have experience and a background with handling a high-volume number of transactions, reconciliations, online banking, and using vendor portals. Must be proficient with Excel and any experience with Peoplesoft would be a plus!

Responsibilities:

Process, verify, and reconcile invoices to ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors.

Code and categorize expenses to the appropriate accounts in compliance with company policies.

Manage Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and oversee check runs to maintain efficient payment workflows.

Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure proper documentation for all payments.

Maintain up-to-date and organized accounts payable records for auditing and reporting purposes.

Handle inquiries from vendors, providing clear and precise communication to resolve payment issues.

Assist in month-end closing activities by preparing accounts payable reports and reconciling accounts.

Monitor payment schedules to avoid delays and ensure compliance with established deadlines.

Support the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency within the accounts payable function.

Requirements

Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.

Strong knowledge of account coding, invoice processing, and payment systems.

Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check run procedures.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.

Proficiency in using accounting software and financial reporting tools.

Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines.

Effective communication skills for collaborating with vendors and internal teams.

Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Must be willing to consent to drug and background screening for consideration!!
