This vacancy is located in Emergency Services Unit of the Office of Louisiana State Police.
The Louisiana State Police (LSP) Emergency Services Unit (ESU) is the primary agency in Louisiana with statutory authority over hazardous materials and explosives. The Hazardous Materials Hotline allows for the immediate notification of hazardous materials-related incidents occurring in Louisiana.
We're looking for an Administrative Program Specialist Bto join our Right to Know section on the Hazardous Materials Hotline. The Administrative Program Specialist B plays a key role in documenting and disseminating information related to hazardous materials releases, allowing for the immediate notification of hazardous materials-related incidents occurring in Louisiana.

Minimum Qualifications
Four years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR
An advanced degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
As an Administrative Program Specialist B, you will perform tasks that are critical to the mission of the Emergency Services Unit, requiring analytical, clerical and data entry skills. In this job you will:
Administer the Hazardous Materials Hotline
Function as a support mechanism to the Office of State Police and the Department of Environmental Quality in Louisiana's chemical response efforts
Support administration of the Emergency Services Unit as the central repository for all Tier Two chemical inventory filings under SARA, Title III and the Louisiana Hazardous Materials Information Development, Preparedness, and Response Act
Process explosives licenses and applications

Appointment Type: Probational
Career Progression: This position will be filled as an Administrative Program Specialist B.
Work Schedule:Work hours may range from 7:00am until 5:30pm, Monday - Friday.
Compensation: Starting salary for this position is $19.30 - hourly / $1,544 - biweekly / $3,345 - monthly / $40,144 - annual. Limited exceptions may be available to applicants who possess extraordinary work experience.
