Tessera is seeking a dedicated, detail-driven, and mission-minded Accountant to support the Base Maintenance Contract (BMC) at the U.S. Air Force Academy. This is a vital role for someone who takes pride in precision, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is passionate about contributing to a high-impact federal operation. The ideal candidate will bring integrity, initiative, and a commitment to excellence in financial and administrative support-helping ensure smooth operations and compliance across all facets of the contract.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Prepare journal entries and reconcile bank and ledger accounts
Process accounts payable and subcontractor invoices in a timely and accurate manner
Maintain financial data in Maximo and other systems; ensure alignment with contract requirements
Assist with monthly closings and financial reporting
Track preventive maintenance payments and credit card receipts
Support payroll administration and employee license tracking
Maintain base access documentation and credentialing for subcontractors
Assist Site Manager with scheduling, reporting, and internal communications
Coordinate onboarding and compliance documentation for staff and subcontractors
Support special projects, audits, and workflow improvements
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism across all work environment
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in facilities maintenance or federal contracting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with Maximo preferred
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
Understanding of GAAP and federal acquisition regulations (FAR)
Ability to interpret legal and financial documents
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Experience with subcontractor oversight and contract compliance
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Physical Requirements:

Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
