Description Job Title: Cardiac SonographerDepartment: ImagingLocation: UMMC - North Street CampusHours Per Week: As NeededSchedule: Per Diem, Flexible SchedulingSUMMARY:As a Sonographer, you play an important part in high quality imaging exams needed to deliver quality care to our patients. Performs or assists in the performance of Vascular, Abdominal, OB/GYN or Neurovascular Sonography exams. The primary objective is to obtain high quality images and maximize the efficiency of the Radiologist or Neurologist while providing exceptional patient care and maintaining a consistent level of quality.RESPONSIBILITIES:Able to appropriately determine clinical question being addressed:Refers to indication noted on requisitionReviews patient chart and historyRefers to physician, as neededUtilizes imaging protocols established by American Society of Echocardiography, ICAEL Echo Standards.Enters patient demographics on ultrasound machine.Utilizes proper patient positioning techniques to obtain optimal image Other duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Effective June 1, 2023: Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate OR Bachelor's Degree in Ultrasound required for all new hires. Appropriate credential in echocardiography from: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).New graduates of a cardiac ultrasound program who are employed in an accredited facility must obtain an appropriate credential within one year from the date of graduation. These individuals must be listed on the application as provisional technical staff who are eligible for credentialing, and must only work under appropriate supervision of a credentialed Sonographer.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prior Sonographer experience preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.PAY RANGE: $45.25 - $45.25 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
