Overview

The Facility Work Crew Leader is responsible for supervising incarcerated individuals engaged in community-based work. This position plays a key role in fostering a strong work ethic among participants, ensuring safety, and maintaining productivity and compliance with established protocols.

\ Key Responsibilities:

Supervise incarcerated individuals working on community crews.

Promote responsibility, discipline, and a strong work ethic among

participants.

Ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks.

Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust to dynamic

situations.\

Conduct daily documentation and reporting, including:

End-of-shift reports

Vehicle inspection forms

Incident reports

Tool and equipment inventories

Participate in and help facilitate work-related training for

eligible individuals.

Maintain public relations in a professional manner when interacting

with community members.

Operate and inspect state vehicles and equipment as needed.

Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Requirements:

Valid drivers license.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Willingness and ability to work in various environmental conditions.

Must have completed, or be willing to attend, the Vermont

Corrections Academy.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings as well as in a standard office setting. High stress situations are predictable. A valid driver\'s license is required. Weekend shifts are predictable. Presentations before groups and organizations should be anticipated. Duty station assignments may change in accordance with the needs of the department.
