As a AI/ML Platform Engineering SME, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the Defense CTO's AI/ML delivery mission. You will play a crucial role in designing, building, and sustaining end-to-end AI/ML solutions that support rapid model development, deployment, and continuous improvement across DoD and commercial customers.
Lead Platform Architecture - Own the design and implementation of the AI/ML platform, ensuring it meets scalability, reliability, and security requirements for Navy, Marine Corps, and other DoD customers.
Team Leadership & Coaching - Manage, mentor, and coach a team of AI/ML engineers; foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and high-quality deliverables.
CI/CD & MLOps Pipelines - Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data ingestion, model training, validation, and deployment using tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Kubeflow, MLflow, and ArgoCD.
Cloud & Container Orchestration - Deploy and manage containerized AI/ML workloads on Kubernetes clusters across public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-prem environments; apply IaC (Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible) for reproducibility.
Data Platform Integration - Integrate the AI/ML platform with existing data lakes, data warehouses, and secure data pipelines, ensuring compliance with DoD data handling and cybersecurity controls.
Security & Compliance - Implement and enforce security best practices (encryption, identity & access management, vulnerability scanning) for model artifacts, data, and platform services.
Stakeholder Engagement - Collaborate with product owners, system architects, and end users to translate business requirements into AI/ML solutions, produce proposals, and deliver demos that demonstrate value.
Innovation & R&D - Stay abreast of emerging AI/ML technologies (e.g., Federated Learning, Auto-ML, edge inference) and evaluate their applicability to GDIT missions.
