As a Coatings Engineer/Technologist at our Evendale, Ohio facility, you will lead and support coating projects in a hands-on, Coating Lab environment with a focus on the development, optimization, and industrialization of coating manufacturing processes for current and future engine programs. Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead and support development of manufacturing processes for next generation coatings, as well as legacy coatings applied to future engine programs
Mature coating processes on coupons and proto@type/engine test/low-rate production hardware in the lab, and assist in industrialization efforts for full rate production in Supply Chain shops
Work collaboratively with experienced engineers and technicians to improve quality and reduce cost/cycle time for current production coatings
Work across organizations with design, materials, manufacturing, and quality engineers to develop and execute on plans for coating hardware for development engine testing
Assist in the review of issues on coated hardware including understanding of root cause and development/execution of corrective actions
Apply coatings to coupons and proto@type hardware for lab testing to support learnings within the business on materials and processes
Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned individual and team projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/ program requirements
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/ or task consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 3 years of experience in an Engineering or Coatings related role)
Desired Characteristics:
Bachelor of Science or graduate degree in Material Science & Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or other Science/Engineering related degree from an accredited university or college
Knowledge and experience with aerospace coatings, chemical processes, and/or special process quality systems
Strong technical aptitude related to manufacturing equipment and/or tooling design and build
Desire to work safely in a hands-on environment to execute assigned projects
