Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The ideal candidate will assist with year-end financial tasks, including reconciliations, asset capitalization, and ledger management. This role requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail to support our accounting operations effectively.

Responsibilities:

Perform accounts payable processes with accuracy and efficiency.

Reconcile credit card transactions and ensure proper documentation.

Assist in the capitalization of assets in compliance with company policies.

Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances and transactions.

Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations to support the financial close process.

Handle year-end closing activities, including adjustments and journal entries.

Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled and discrepancies are resolved.

Support the preparation of sales tax filings and corporate tax returns as needed.

Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for audits.

Requirements - Proficiency in handling sales tax and corporate tax returns.

Strong understanding of journal entries and general ledger processes.

Demonstrated experience with year-end closings and related activities.

Familiarity with capital asset management and accounting standards.

Expertise in account reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.

Ability to perform balance sheet account reconciliations effectively.

Solid organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
