This position is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect. Our Special Police Officers allow us to accomplish our company's core purpose which is "to service, secure and care for the people and businesses in our communities." Special Police Security Officers act as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions; they detect and report suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts which may be a threat to the property, clients, guests or employees at the site.

What You'll Do:

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education

Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams

Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service

Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.

Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing appropriate de-escalation techniques as needed.

Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or security-related incidents.

Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious behavior.

Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to site protocols.

Collaborate with healthcare staff and visitors to address concerns and provide assistance as needed.

Remain alert to potential security-related risks and hazards specific to a healthcare environment, taking appropriate action when necessary.

Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments

A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company

Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements:

Must be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.

Must have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military, or corrections experience or possess a college degree.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Must possess a law enforcement officer license.

A valid driver's license is required and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements.

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
