Bowman has an opportunity for an Accounting Manager, Acquisitions Accounting to join our team in Reston VA. This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Purpose
Prepare, analyze, and maintain financial results in a timely and accurate manner for acquisitions prior to integration.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Direction
Receive broad guidance from senior-level management relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.
At the Operational and Company Level
Assist with the development, implementation of and monitoring adherence to company accounting policies and procedures.
Identify, research, and resolve corporate accounting, auditing, and operational issues.
Reconcile and analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for management.
Do the Work
Assist with pre-acquisition financial reporting and process evaluation.
Coordinate preparations for post-closing accounting.
Assist in preparation of opening balance sheet for acquired entities and associated post-closing journal entries.
Implement processes and controls for acquired companies.
Oversee transitional accounting activities of acquired companies and facilitate month end consolidations prior to full integration.
Partner with IT department to prepare data field mapping for financial systems integration.
Facilitate transition of acquired entities to corporate accounting group post-integration.
Assist with audit requests from internal and external auditors and provide support for any external reporting requirements for the transaction.
Build positive relationships with key financial, operational, and accounting stakeholders of acquired companies.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
Relevant certification (e.g., CMA or CPA) preferred but not required.
Seven or more (7+)years of corporate accounting experience.
Two or more (2+) years of management experience preferred.
Prior architecture, engineering, and/or construction accounting experience preferred.
Thorough knowledge of GAAP.
Previous experience with mergers and acquisitions.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel.
Experience with full-cycle accounting including month-end closing.
Experience working with large data sets.
Experience with financial systems integration.
Knowledge of Deltek Vision preferred, experience with an ERP system required.
