STATE TITLE: Staff Services Officer IVThis position is eligible for hybrid (remote) work.GENERAL DESCRIPTIONPerforms highly complex staff services, consultative services, technical assistance, and data analytics work to support division reporting, project initiatives and administrative operations for the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, Customer Relations Division. Work involves providing high-level administrative assistance to the Division Director and staff, delivering data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making, maintenance of divisionand#8217;s intranet web page, supply ordering and budget monitoring. Prepares statistical data reports, oversees the customer relationship management database and maintains repository of the divisionand#8217;s electronic filing system. Supports tracking and documentation for project and assignment related activities. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.ESSENTIAL DUTIESPlans, develops, initiates, and presents statistical data and reports on divisionand#8217;s operations.Conducts data analysis to identify trends, operational issues, and performance metrics; advises division leadership of findings, root causes, and potential resolutions.Develops and maintains dashboards, reports, and visualization using tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, Tableau, or other visualization preparation software.Coordinates calendars, meetings, and other activities on behalf of division leadership, including communication with internal and external stakeholders.Assists division directors with human resource management actions.Performs purchasing activities, including obtaining price quotes, entering requisitions, reconciling invoices, and completing purchase orders.Maintains inventory control of equipment and supplies.Makes recommendations to improve operating efficiency and effectiveness based on data insights and operational observations.Assists the Division Director and division managers with managing project related activities, including issue tracking and resolution.Develops, maintains and communicates standard operating procedures for the position in coordination with division leadership.Manages the customer satisfaction survey and the customer feedback database to identify trends, resolve issues and prepare customer service reports.Assists with the development and maintenance of the program areaand#8217;s content on the agency intranet site.Prepares and monitors the division budget; collaborates with budget analysts to maintain and adjust funds as needed. Supports the Legislative Appropriation Request process, mid-year reviews, and exceptional item preparation.Performs related work as assigned.
Qualifications: Minimum RequirementsExperience and EducationBachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.Minimum of two yearsand#8217; experience providing administrative/executive support and two yearsand#8217; experience in data analysis, research, compilation, and/or reporting work.Additional applicable work experience can be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. (Experience requirements may be satisfied by full-time experience or the prorated part-time equivalent.)REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION AND/OR LICENSUREA valid Class "C" driver's license is required. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within ninety (90) days after entering Texas as a new resident.
