Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Environmental Scientist . This is an entry-level position in AECOM's Environment Business Line within the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Technical Practice Area; position will report to EHS Department in AECOM's Atlanta, Georgia office. The Environmental Scientist will work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member in support of a variety of EHS projects, including but not limited to, hazardous material surveys, environmental site assessments, multi-media site investigations, environmental audits, health and safety related surveys and assessments, and environmental compliance plans and permitting.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Entry-level position in AECOM's Environment Business Line within the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Technical Practice Area; position will report to EHS Department in AECOM's Atlanta, Georgia office.
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member on a variety of EHS projects, including but not limited to: hazardous material surveys, environmental site assessments, multi-media site investigations, environmental audits, health and safety related surveys and assessments, and environmental compliance plans and permitting.
Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
Collect and enter data and apply technical principles and theories.
Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Entry-level position; does not require previous experience.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BS in Environmental Science or demonstrated equivalency of education.
Must have a valid U.S driver's license and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent technical writing and organizational skills
Critical thinking and problem solving
Strong working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications, including MS Word, and Excel
Ability to conduct field work
Prior related intern and/or professional experience.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to perform detail-oriented work.
Experience with database development, usage, and data analytics.
Autodesk and/or ArcMap proficiency.
Air modeling and/or permitting experience.
Willingness/ability to be in the field and travel.
OSHA 10-Hour trained.
HAZWOPER 40-Hour trained.
EPA AHERA asbestos inspector accreditation.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $46,000.00 - $64,000.00.
