Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1409000 and is part of the NC ANG, National Guard (145 MXS / 0107163234). Responsibilities As a AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN (TITLE 32), WG-2892-12, you will perform functional tests, analyze performance and troubleshoot the electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical functions of the subsystems integrated into the digital brake/antiskid system, maintenance annunciation panel (MAP) system of the integrated main generator, standby generator, emergency generator, flight control power, AC/DC power distribution and sub-systems integrated into the electronic/electrical and environmental systems; interpret analog and digital operational and output characteristics and results from the Maintenance Annunciation Panel (M.A.P.), onboard computers, aircrew debriefings and specialized test equipment; remove, repair, calibrate, install, align, inspect, and conduct operational performance checkouts on the components of the electronic/electrical and environmental systems; analyze malfunctions using schematics, logic and wiring diagrams, computer data, and factory drawings; diagnose circuit operating characteristics using on-board computer, special test equipment and laptop computers; remove and replace components or assemblies down to the lowest level authorized by depot; perform organizational and intermediate level maintenance modifications; perform recurring inspections and system tests of the life support and the electronic/electrical and environmental system; modify and update electrical and environmental support equipment; maintain and operate various @types of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, diagnostic computers, digital and analog multi-meters, constant speed drive test stands, voltmeters, ammeters, etc.; perform precise and advanced wiring maintenance procedures on aircraft; utilize computer data and specialized test equipment to interpret equipment analog/digital operational characteristics; interpret electronic terms and symbols, and applies electronic formulas, tables and charts in order to perform fault isolation and repairs to systems and sub-systems; provide technical guidance, advice and/or assistance to other work centers on the interrelationship of electronic/electrical and environmental systems and their respective system; process and account for supply assets in the repairable processing system to maintain aircraft records, inspection records, and equipment maintenance in computer systems; document maintenance actions and man-hour expenditures on maintenance forms and computer systems; clear Red X symbols on maintenance forms and perform electronic/electrical and environmental system debriefing of aircrews; recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance procedures; process and account for due-in-from maintenance (DIFM) supply assets; document maintenance repair actions, man-hour accounting, maintenance forms, and computer systems; maintain historical data of repaired components, Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and test equipment; inspect, test and perform operative maintenance on cryogenic and gaseous oxygen and nitrogen servicing equipment; provide thorough inspection of the complete electronic/electrical and environmental, and other systems of the aircraft during special and phase inspections; provide on-the-job training to lower grade personnel concerning repair of the electronic/electrical and environmental equipment, aircraft system line replaceable units (LRUs), and aircraft electrical/environmental systems; provide on-the-job training (OJT) for newly assigned personnel; prepare for and participate in various @types of readiness evaluations; perform additional duties such as aircraft crew chief, hydrazine response, aircraft or equipment decontamination, structural firefighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operator, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or serve as a member of a team to assist local authorities with natural disasters or civil emergencies; comply with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations; ensure that material, equipment and components are properly stored, protected and maintained; plan and lay out work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the technician and lower graded electrician(s); determine approaches, methods and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective manner; independently determine appropriate maintenance procedures; estimate time, equipment, and material requirements; devise and maintain plans and records; may provide recommendations and input to supervisor concerning personnel actions such as performance appraisals, awards, position description changes, disciplinary actions, and leave; and perform other duties as assigned Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: Enlisted (SSgt to TSgt) Minimum Requirements: Experience or training which has provided a knowledge and skill in locating and tying in the electrical systems with the aircraft armament, electronics, and instrument systems; adjusting and calibrating the components of the various electrical systems; reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics. Specialized Experience: (Must have 18 months) of experience or training installing, maintaining, repairing and modifying electrical systems and major substation components of electrical system. Experience diagnosing malfunctions and determining remedy when complex relationships exists among different electrical system circuits requiring knowledge of all electrical units and systems. Experience making electrical repairs that require the use of precision measuring equipment and common hand tools. Experience in the setup and operation of computerized multiple circuit analyzing equipment in manual, semiautomatic, or automatic mode to run existing and new (not fully debugged) diagnostic programs to test and analyze aircraft electrical circuitry and interconnecting cabling of systems such as navigational computers, radar, and related equipment and to repair discrepancies.
