Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for finance and accounting? Robert Half is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist on behalf of a trusted client in El Cajon, CA. This contract-to-permanent opportunity will allow you to refine your accounting skills in a collaborative environment while contributing to the organization's financial success.

Responsibilities:

Process, review, and verify invoices for accuracy, appropriate coding, and compliance with company policies.

Manage vendor relationships, including responding to inquiries and reconciling discrepancies.

Prepare weekly payment runs (checks, ACH, and wire transfers) in adherence to deadlines.

Reconcile accounts payable ledger to ensure accurate and complete records.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including AP accruals and reconciliations.

Track and report expenses, ensuring timely payment approvals and compliance with company budgets.

Maintain organized records and ensure audit readiness for accounts payable transactions.

Collaborate with internal departments to resolve any AP-related concerns.

Apply continuous improvements to AP processes for efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting roles.

Proficiency in accounting software, such as SAP, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or equivalent.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and familiarity with AP workflows.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to use formulas, v-lookups, and pivot tables.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Effective communication skills to interact professionally with vendors, clients, and internal teams.

Problem-solving and analytical capabilities to reconcile discrepancies efficiently.

Experience in a high-volume AP environment preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience processing invoices in a multi-entity organization.

Knowledge of GAAP and ability to navigate compliance requirements.

Background in industries such as retail, construction, nonprofit, or property management is a plus.
