RECREATION AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CARE PLANNER REHABILITATION AND PROGRAMS DEER LODGE, Mt. TheRecreation and Behavioral Health Care Plannerworks with a Psychiatric Nurse under the Psychiatrist and Health Services Administrator. The position provides activities-related services to inmates on the mental health caseload with the focus of services covering inmates housed on the Mental Health Treatment Unit. Provide treatment services and recreation activities using a variety of techniques to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well being of clients. Help reduce symptoms of depression, stress and anxiety, and help clients recover basic motor functions and reasoning abilities. Help clients build confidence and socialize effectively to enable greater independence and to help reduce the long-term effects of the client's mental illness. QUALIFICATIONS: The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to: Bachelor's Degree in either Occupational Therapy, Recreation Therapy, or in the human services field. Two years of experience in an in-patient mental health setting is required. Experience working in a correctional setting is preferred. Certification as a Recreation therapist is preferred but not required. Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
