Project Accountant

Our client is a reputable construction company specializing in public works, commercial and residential projects across California. We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team in the role of Project Accountant. This role is responsible for managing and the financial needs of assigned projects, including budget tracking, subcontractor payments, cost reporting, and compliance with the contract. The Project Accountant will work closely with the superintendents, project managers, and the accounting department.

Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly invoices, budgets and project management reports.

Prepare, code and input project invoices from subcontractors, and materials.

Prepare and analyze monthly project reports.

Track and input budget data for assigned projects.

Manage subcontractor compliance.

Assist project managers with job cost reports.

Assist with contract administration, ensuring terms and conditions are met.

Answer inquiries from staff, vendors or clients, and communicate financial information to the project managers.

Prepare and submit owner billings in accordance with contract requirements.

Support internal audits and preparation as needed.

Assist Controller as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Knowledge of prevailing wage compliance and certified payroll reporting.

Knowledge of company accounting concepts and practices.

Knowledge of GMP, unit cost, and fixed priced contracts.

Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Vista Viewpoint, Procore, and HCSS experience a plus.

Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines as required.

Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Ability to be a proactive self-starter.

Detail-oriented.
