Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team in Manteca, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in managing financial processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting practices and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely results.

Responsibilities:

Manage vendor database and oversee 1099 processing to ensure compliance with reporting standards.

Process business license applications, assist customers with inquiries, and coordinate approvals across departments.

Handle payment postings, issue renewals and past-due notices, and ensure timely mailing of approved licenses.

Maintain accurate records for business licenses, notify relevant departments of non-renewals, and ensure proper file organization.

Administer miscellaneous accounts receivable, including creating invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.

Analyze and reconcile animal control receipts, manage monthly intergovernmental billing, and oversee annual renewals.

Utilize accounting software and tools to maintain financial and statistical records with precision.

Collaborate with customers and internal teams to address billing concerns and maintain positive relationships.

Meet deadlines and schedules effectively while working independently with minimal supervision.

Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and relevant regulations. Requirements - Two years of specialized training or college-level coursework in accounting, business administration, or a related field is highly desirable.

At least two years of experience in financial roles, including accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and data entry.

Proficiency in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), billing functions, and account reconciliation.

Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and systems.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Skilled in reading, interpreting, and applying rules, regulations, and policies.

Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal direction.

Commitment to meeting schedules and maintaining consistent attendance.
