Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Business Services Manager and following controls put in place by State of Minnesota, MinnState and Pine Technical and Community College policies and procedures, this position exists to: provide effective and accurate reconciliation of a variety of Workday and bank system accounts; coordinate the college purchasing card compliance process; and assure the maintenance of adequate inventory of office supplies throughout the campus.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) sufficient to analyze, interpret, and prepare financial information, records and reports; locate errors; and recommend solutions to procedural or other fiscal problems. Knowledge of Workday financial management software, or other private or governmental accounting systems, sufficient to query and compile records and reports, and assist with preparation and maintenance of spending plans, financial status reports and budget requests. Working knowledge of electronic spreadsheets, word processing software, computers and other office equipment such as calculators. Mathematics skills sufficient to calculate, review and reconcile data and balance accounts. Ability to design, interpret and explain work procedures and operations and provide advice on fiscal policies and procedures. Ability to understand written and oral instructions Experience working effectively with private and confidential materials

Preferred Qualification

Associates degree or higher in accounting or related field Experience working in the business office of a higher education institution Knowledge of the college, MinnState, state and federal rules, regulations, policy and procedures related to finance processes Working knowledge of MinnState's accounting system Ability to organize multiple tasks and prioritize work to meet requirements of position and deadlines Strong interpersonal skills in order to create and maintain good relations within the college Excellent attention to detail

Other Requirements

In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities (Minnesota State) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
