The Suzanne Chen lab at NYU's Department of Biology is looking for a highly motivated and independent individual to work as a Laboratory Associate.

This position affords continued training for a specialized career path in research. It will provide development of technical skills; supervision by senior scientists incorporating individual development plan in support of training goals and those of faculty mentor; and possible publication of research findings during appointment period.

Responsibilities may include:

Laboratory Support: Prepare and maintain lab equipment, instruments, solutions, strains, assays, and other essential supplies.

Techniques & Assays: Perform specialized techniques, such as cell culture, RNA binding assay etc.

Animal Handling: Conduct animal studies, including injections, tissue/fluids collection, and animal autopsies to facilitate chemical identification and analyses.

Data Management: Record and analyze research data, prepare reports, and provide insights to the research team.

Collaboration: Assist peers and researchers with ongoing projects, fostering a team-oriented, supportive environment.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $58,656 - $60,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

The ideal candidate will have an MS in Biology or a related field, minimum of 2 years of research experience. Proven basic laboratory skills and the ability to handle diverse tasks in a research setting. Ability to collaborate and build trusting relationships.
