Description We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Webster, New York. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial records while supporting key accounting operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment within the social care and services industry.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and review corporate tax filings to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Manage sales tax reporting and submission processes accurately and on time.

Handle journal entries to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate any discrepancies.

Collaborate with internal teams to support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.

Assist in audits by preparing required documentation and responding to inquiries.

Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Support the implementation of accounting system updates or improvements as needed.

Provide guidance and expertise to resolve accounting-related challenges. Requirements - Proven experience with corporate tax preparation and filing.

Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and reporting.

Proficiency in managing corporate tax returns and related documentation.

Expertise in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.

Familiarity with accounting software and tools for efficient workflow.

Ability to analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication skills for collaborating with teams and stakeholders.
