A Brief Overview
As a Sr Software Engineer in Global Lab Capabilities, you represent WWT as a senior level subject matter expert within automation and solution development and work towards constant self-improvement to become a distinguished level subject matter expert. As a member of the GLC Automation Team, you will assist and lead in the research, development, build, and support of lab environments leveraging the NAIC/EIC/AIC facilities. The Sr. Software Engineer works with Sales, Business Development, Program Managers, and engineering teams to develop and implement automation within our Integration Centers. The Global Lab Capabilities Team (Consulting, Automation, and Solutions Architecture Validation) is responsible for developing and implementing industry-leading integrated technology solutions for some of the most technologically advanced IT, Finance, and Healthcare companies in the world. Our Architects help design automated solutions that allow our Engineering teams to build state-of-the-art solutions in a high-quality and high-demand environment.
Job Responsibilities
Creates and maintains automated solutions, including but not limited to, scripts and applications to deploy configurations and images (including bare metal and OS) over large-scale operations.
Builds and maintains Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for automated testing and delivery of project solutions.
Works with customers to determine project scope and initial level of effort for solutions design.
Uses and creates detailed documentation for all scripts, virtualization, and processes.
Maintains and troubleshoots code in various languages.
Demonstrates subject matter expert (SME) communication and presentation skills to engineering, senior-level team members and clients in areas around scripting, coding, and imaging.
Collaborates w/ WWT peers on leveraging technology to drive WWT business by developing innovative solutions for customers.
Mentors ATSA and TSA team members to advance in their daily job skills as well as help better align their career development.
Acts as technical escalation for created solutions prior to production implementation
Ensures global IC alignment for processes and procedures
Maintains collaborative relationships with partners (OEMs)
Develops and communicate technical content to Leadership and internal stakeholder teams
Creates innovative solutions to streamline processes/procedures and ensure alignment to the WWT Mission and Vision.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in information technology or engineering required. A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
5+ years progressive experience in a related field required.
5-7 years working in the IT industry
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong fluency with multiple of the following: PowerShell, Python or Bash.
Scripting background/experience should be aimed at automating common CLI and API driven tasks.
Proven experience with multiple imaging formats and deployment solutions including, but not limited to Ghost, Altiris, Acronis, SCCM, MDT, DeployStudio, WDS and Clonezilla with an emphasis on the Windows Image format (WIM's).
Demonstrated experience with PXE, FTP, TFTP, HTTP, DHCP, and DNS servers both Linux and Windows-based.
In-depth knowledge of multiple distributions of Windows, Linux, BSD and versions of OSX.
In-depth knowledge of virtual machines such as VMware or Hyper-V.
Expert level familiarity with the command-line interface (CLI) for common Cisco router/switch hardware -- e.g., Catalyst, Nexus, ASR, and ISR product lines.
Strong working knowledge with network, server, and storage equipment from additional OEMs such as Juniper, Arista, F5, Aruba, HP, Dell, and NetApp.
Proven experience of networking products such as routers, switches, firewalls, CDN, DNS, Windows, and/or Linux/UNIX server.
Experience in front-end and back-end web development a plus.
Proven understanding of TCP/IP networking and related protocols .
Strong familiarity with DevOps practices and tools including Git and Ansible.
Strong familiarity with using REST APIs for automation of tasks.
Strong understanding of underlying web technologies including HTTP, HTML, and JavaScript.
Experienced knowledge of Source Control Code and Container Repository (GitHub, GitLab).
High-level technical communication and presentation skills.
Team Player/Leader, self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
Proven ability and industry experience in a technical leadership capacity.
Demonstrated success in mentorship and technical development of junior team members.
This role includes assignment of work for specific WWT customers. Some customers have specific on-boarding requirements, including background check and drug testing requirements that go beyond WWT's requirements. Ability to meet these requirements may be necessary for continued employment, depending on needs of the department.

Compensation/ Benefits
Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $109,600-137,000 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.
