Elegant Dentistry, a leader in providing top-notch dental care, is excited to announce the availability of a full-time position within our dedicated team. We are a private practice seeking a highly motivated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. Please note, this is an on-site role requiring the successful applicant to work at our fully equipped, state-of-the-art facility.

As a Dental Assistant at Elegant Dentistry, you will play a crucial role in the smooth running of our dental practices, assisting dentists, and ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of dental care. This is an exceptional opportunity to grow professionally in a dynamic and supportive setting.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
Set up and breakdown operatory post-treatment.
Take dental radiographs (x-rays) as prescribed by the dentist.
Manage infection control - prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling).
Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling).
Take impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth).

Requirements

Proven experience as a dental assistant.
Excellent understanding of dental hygiene procedures.
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
Understanding of health & safety regulations.
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus.
Good computer skills (MS Office and dental office software).
Strong communication and people skills.
Dentrix
Attention to detail.
Well-organized and reliable.
High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred.
Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g., EFDA).
