Duties and Responsibilities

Perform oral health assessments including dental charting, X-ray reviews, and initial patient screening.
Conduct teeth cleanings, apply sealants, administer fluoride treatments, and perform other preventive dental care.
Educate patients on oral hygiene strategies, including brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling.
Assist dentists with procedures and provide oral health care education and counseling to patients.
Update patient records and document patient care services by charting in patient records.
Manage infection control - clean and sterilize instruments and equipment after every use.
Adhere to professional standards, policies, and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local requirements, updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and continuing education.

Requirements

Current state licensure as a Dental Hygienist and compliance with any applicable state or federal guidelines.
Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with patients and staff.
Attention to detail for thorough and precise treatments and documentation.
Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, other hygienists, and assistants.
A patient and friendly approach, able to work in a team and respect for patients' confidentiality.
Commitment to continued education in dental practices and staying up-to-date with advancements in the field.
