Hallmark is a Halifax based dental lab serving dental clinics and their patients in Atlantic Canada. We are looking to hire an expeditor to join our growing team. In the expeditor role, you will be responsible for monitoring the flow of cases from task to task within the lab. You will identify the potential for late cases and bring these to the production supervisor’s attention to determine solutions. Maintaining a clear and open line of communication is crucial in this position. Success in this role will be demonstrated by ensuring cases are located and identified to be either on time or at risk of missing our delivery targets.

Key Responsibilities of an Expediter:

Tracking and Monitoring:
Expeditors monitor the status and location of cases in the lab using the lab scheduling software and report their progress to the production supervisors.
Coordination and Communication:
They act as a liaison between different departments, shipping and receiving, and most often the lab supervisors, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration. 
Problem Solving and Resolution:
Expeditors identify potential delays, quality issues, or other problems that could impact timelines or efficiency and bring these to the production supervisors. 
Documentation and Reporting:
They document progress, track metrics, and generate reports to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.

Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial for coordinating with various stakeholders. 
Organization:
Strong organizational skills are needed to manage multiple tasks and track progress effectively. 
Problem-Solving:
The ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently is essential. 
Time Management:
Effective time management skills are necessary to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks. 
Attention to Detail:
Expeditors need to be detail-oriented to ensure accuracy in tracking and reporting. 
Adaptability:
The ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle unexpected situations is important.

Hallmark has been in the community over 40 years. The lab is the largest dental lab in Atlantic Canada and one of the most technologically advanced dental labs in the country. Our growth has been the result of strong team, strong management and strong communication. Our hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
